Frequently asked questions
Where did NEVE get its name? From this good boy right here.
Goals & Results
I want to lose weight and get toned. Will this help?
Yes. NEVE training is designed to build strength, increase mobility, and support a healthy metabolism — key components for fat loss and muscle tone. With consistent, functional movement tailored to your goals, you'll feel stronger, leaner, and more energized.
I want to perform better in the outdoors — can this training help
Absolutely. NEVE is built for alpine and outdoor athletes. Whether you’re hiking, climbing, skiing, or trail running, we train strength, stability, endurance, and mobility to help you move efficiently in the mountains. Periodized programming aligns with your seasonal goals, so you feel strong on the uphill and stable on technical terrain.
I want to be able to keep up with my kids. I feel like I’ve fallen behind and it’s discouraging. Can this programming help me?
Yes — and you’re not alone. NEVE meets you where you are and helps you rebuild energy, strength, and confidence through smart, supportive progressions. Whether it’s the playground, the trail, or daily life, we’ll help you feel capable again.
Will the workouts be too hard for me?
Not at all. Every NEVE program starts from your current level of fitness and progresses as your strength, mobility, and confidence grow. You're never thrown in over your head.
Which program is right for me?
I’ve never lifted weights before. Where should I start?
Start with private one-on-one coaching. You’ll learn foundational strength, proper form, and alignment in a supportive setting. Sessions are available at the NEVE gym in Carbondale or at Ripple Effect. Once you’re feeling confident, you can transition to group training or continue privately.
I have gym experience, but I feel lost without a plan. I want to train with purpose on my own. What’s the best fit?
NEVE’s personalized online programming is a great fit if you’re motivated to train independently but want structure, support, and purpose behind every workout. You’ll receive customized training plans based on your goals, schedule, and available equipment — plus video demos and direct messaging for questions. Monthly coaching check-ins help you stay accountable, adjust your goals, and keep your progress on track.
I love group workouts. Which program is right for me?
Try a NEVE block: a 4- to 6-week small-group series blending strength, mobility, and yoga/stretching. These classes are designed to build seasonal readiness. You can also join Carolyn’s weekly group fitness and yoga classes at Carbondale studios like Ripple Effect, True Nature Healing Arts, and Kula Yoga on Main.
Program features & customization
What makes NEVE different from other fitness programs?
NEVE combines functional strength, mobility, and recovery with seasonal periodization — specifically tailored for outdoor athletes and active lifestyles. It’s about more than fitness: It’s about building long-term resilience and freedom of movement.
Can I combine this with other training I'm already doing?
Yes. NEVE works alongside your current routine — whether you're preparing for a race, a climbing trip, or staying active. We’ll design your plan to fill in the gaps (like strength or mobility) without causing burnout.
Is this appropriate for injury recovery or post-physical therapy?
Absolutely. Many clients come to NEVE after rehab or with old injuries. We build strength and stability in a progressive, safe way that supports healing and long-term movement health. Always check with your provider before starting, if needed.
Do I need special equipment or a gym?
Nope. Your program will be based on what you have. Some clients train at home with minimal gear; others use a fully equipped gym. We make it work for you.
Can I train remotely if I don’t live in Carbondale?
Yes! NEVE offers remote coaching with personalized programs, video instruction, and messaging support. You can also add virtual coaching sessions for form feedback and accountability.
How often do I need to train to see results?
Most clients train 2–4 times per week, depending on their goals. NEVE programs are built to fit your schedule and support long-term progress through consistent, intentional movement.
Is there a nutrition component to the program?
While NEVE doesn’t offer meal plans, we provide basic nutrition guidance and can refer you to a trusted specialist for deeper support if needed.
Commitment & booking
Why is there a 12-week commitment for private coaching and personalized programs?
Sustainable progress takes time. Most people begin to see changes around 6 weeks, and meaningful transformation comes with consistency. NEVE works with a small number of dedicated clients to ensure every program is truly personal and effective.
How do I get started or book a session?
It’s easy — just email Carolyn to schedule your first session or ask questions about what’s right for you.
All current pricing and package options are listed on the Programs page. Whether you're looking for private coaching, group classes, or remote training, it’s all clearly laid out there.
