Meet Carolyn
Carolyn Williams is a mountain-focused strength, mobility, and yoga coach with a Master of Education from Harvard University. She is a Certified Ripple Effect Strength and Conditioning Coach for mountain athletes, NASM-certified personal trainer, 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and holds Level 1 & 2 mobility coaching certifications from The Ready State under Dr. Kelly Starrett. A former educator, Carolyn brings a deep background in curriculum design, including work in ESL programming and college counseling, and applies that same thoughtful structure to her training. Her approach blends evidence-based strength, mobility, and mindful movement to support durable, capable bodies for life and performance in the mountains.
Carolyn is passionate about the role that strength training, mobility work, and yoga play in improving performance and building resilience.
As the founder of NEVE – a coaching practice inspired by the mountain term for ideal snow conditions – Carolyn coaches athletes in their pursuit of peak physical condition for any adventure. Through NEVE, she integrates resistance training, mobility work, and yoga to help athletes and outdoor enthusiasts move better, recover faster, and perform at their best.
Based in Carbondale, CO, Carolyn’s approach is grounded in her love for alpine environments. An avid trail runner, gravel biker, and skier, she uses her personal experience as a mountain athlete and global traveler to guide others in building strength, resilience, and mobility. She has competed in events such as the Dead Horse Point Ultra, Grand Traverse, Power of Four, and Steamboat Gravel, and she has trekked renowned trails like the Tour of Mont Blanc, Via Valais, Alta Via, and the Annapurna Circuit.
Carolyn works with clients through NEVE and at Ripple Effect Training Center, and teaches yoga, myofascial release, and mobility classes at Kula Yoga on Main and True Nature Healing Arts. Her coaching supports long-term strength, balance, and well-being – on the trail, in the studio, and beyond.
“Carolyn Williams built a personalized, progressive training plan that prepared me for the Power of Four skimo race. She struck a great balance of strength sessions, interval workouts, and recovery days, and she had me working hard to meet each week’s mileage and vert goals. Her expert guidance and unwavering encouragement made all the difference in my training and race day performance. Thank you, Carolyn!”
